I started this Wikipedia article as part of the Women's Art Register (Melbourne) Wiki Edit-a-thon in July of 2019. Women artists are massively under-represented in the Art Historical record, and Indigenous artists even more so. Carlene West is a well-known painter with work in collections such as the National Gallery of Australia and the British Museum. I am passionate about using my skills and privilege to create records of those overlooked by the larger academy.
